Birchgrove Eggs

Birchgrove Free Range eggs are a long established family business based in Trawsgoed near Aberystwyth. It is farmed and run by Gwen and Tony Burgess.

Gwen and Tony have won numerous awards over the years, for both their farming practices and their egg quality; awards include True Taste, Farmers Weekly Poultry Farmers of the year and Ceredigion food producer of the year. They are ambassadors for the RSPCA Freedom Food scheme and are members of the Slow Food movement. Birchgrove eggs has an open door policy and welcomes visitors to see free range egg production at first hand. This year many school parties have visited as part of the current curriculum module –the life cycle, where they can see at first hand the chicken and the egg!
